Ramapo College CPH Recruitment

In order to go through Panhellenic Recruitment, you must have at least 12 credits prior to Recruitment Week and maintain a 2.5 GPA or have earned at least 24 credits prior to Recruitment while maintaining at least a 2.25 GPA. Additionally, you must be in good academic standing with the College and must not be on disciplinary probation.

FORMAL RECRUITMENT

The first day of Recruitment follows a "round-robin" format in which all potential new members are introduced to the six CPH sororities at Ramapo. The following day, all potential new members go to four, 30-minute parties for each sorority. After that night is over, potential new members must decide to eliminate one sorority that they don't feel a connection with. The following day, potential new members go to three, 45-minute parties, and then they eliminate a second sorority that they do not prefer. Following that, potential new members will receive a "Pref" which is an invite back to the last night of Recruitment. The night of Pref, potential new members rank which two sororities would be their number one and number two choice (or they can decide to just put one sorority down if they are completely sure).

NEW MEMBER PROCESS

New Member Education is Sigma Delta Tau's version of "pledging" and is simply a period of time when a new member gets to know the sisters of SDT and become knowledgeable about the sorority. The New Member process ranges from 6-8 weeks and during that time, new members will complete their pearls, diamond, receive their BIGS, and be able to bond with each other and their new sisters.

BID DAY

After Pref, each potential new member is asked to rank their top two choices and through a computer system, they are matched with one of the six CPH sororities. The following day, potential new members will receive bids and be able to celebrate with their new home!

INITIATION

Once new members go through their New Member process, they are initiated into Sigma Delta Tau. This ceremony uses rituals and traditions that every sister of Sigma Delta Tau goes through and symbolizes that each member has completed all six pearls and one diamond of her new member program. Current sisters then place the torch pin on the new members and welcome them into our sisterhood that is Sigma Delta Tau.
